Happy New Year! We've reached the middle of January and got through the agony of the most depressing Monday in Britain (apparently) and to give all of us a little boost, the RPS have announced fee's for pre-reg, student and associate members! Hurray!
I can't express more gratitude and pleasure with the RPS for allowing students to join for free. This will not only ensure a large up take of students into the society but will also give students access to all kinds of resources.
It will hopefully, make students feel part of the profession and this should help lecturers and facilitators encourage them to behave more professionally during university. It will also allow them to form a relationship with the RPS at the very start of their careers, rather than 4 years down the line.
I'm rather pleased with the reduced associate membership fees for pre-reg's (£70) too. Rather than the full (£192) associate membership pre-reg's have been given a rather generous discount. Hopefully pre-reg's will focus on the amount of discount we're getting, rather than focusing on the actual price.
With a bit of luck, I hope this is the first of many brilliant things the RPS does for the profession.
