Make even a little difference.....

Today I had a conversation with an addict about how he was getting on taking Subutex instead of using. He told me that physically he was doing really well, physchologically though was where he found it hard at times. In his words - he had nothing to fill the gap that the drugs had left. I asked him what counselling or coaching had he had with regards to filling the gap - he said none -ever!

After a conversation about what was motivating him to stay clean and how when he thought of his future what did see, how did it make him feel etc. we were able to catch a glimpse of a compelling future that he'd never been asked to explore before.

It just astounds and saddens me that still.....these souls are still not being served by the system...no wonder the success rate is so poor. I hope I made even a little difference today to that one soul and it makes me ask the question.....How can I help more?????
