IELTS Requirement for registration as a pharmacist
I think minimum level of 7 in each section in IELTS at one sitting is at higher side. Society should interview the overseas pharmacists who are registered as a pharmacy technician personally and check their english language ability.
Considering the shortage of pharmacists in the UK there should be an exemption/personal interview for at least those overseas pharmacists who are registered with the society as a "Pharmacy Technician" because the cadidate can only register with the society as technician when he has 2 years of uk pharmacy experience and can communicate with the patients effectively.
Society should make overall band 7 requirement in the IELTS rather than in each section for registerd pharmacy technicians as they have sufficient uk pharmacy experience and knowledge regarding UK pharmacy law and ethics.
