The arrival of "Pharmacy Professional" through my letterbox generated many emotions but in general anger and despair were most prominent. I am hoping that some official of the Society can reassure me that its total cost is supported by the advertising carried within its glossy pages for I certainly do not wish any of my ever increasing retention fee to pay for such a publication. In my opinion the content of this publication is seriously at odds with it's title. For example it is notable that the six pages of CPD content are significantly eclipsed by the recipes for polenta, expensive car reviews and tips on avoiding jet lag (presumably required for us to cope with our trip to Singapore). If I want to recieve such "Lifestyle" content I will buy a quality Sunday newspaper but that is my choice. In these times of change I feel it is important the Society focus on what is truly important and does not shoot itself in the foot with misplaced activities of which this new publication is a grand example. Am I out of step with this new world in thinking that the Socirty should spend its resources supporting pharmacists rather than providing recipes ?
