As a topic that featured in the recent EPB meeting I was pleased to see the RPSGB with a high profile on the national news this evening regarding the shortage of medicines, featuring David Pruce.
Why though, when a pharmacist is shown in the media carrying out a medicines related activity does it never demonstrate best practice? In this case the pharmacist was dropping tablets into a tablet counter using his hand. Unless, of course, this was an actor! Surely a pharmacist would have declined to perform in this manner.

Best Practice
Unfortunately the concept of 'Best Practice' is largely ignored in place of practical measures, such as dispensing tablets via hand. Most tablet containers do not stem the flow in the least, and filling up numerous dosset boxes with tweezers etc can become tiresome.
I assume this pharmacist/actors hands were clean and sanitised before doing their job though?
