Lead Pharmacist Controlled Drugs
Band 8c
£52,007 - £64,118 per annum
37.5 hours per week
The introduction of more stringent legislation with regard to the safe management and use of controlled drugs has meant the appointment of an Accountable Officer within each Health Board. We require a Lead Pharmacist who can develop a specialist service, with the help of a small team, to fulfil the delivery of the Accountable Officer’s responsibilities in relation to the safe management of controlled drugs. The team will include inspection officers, project support and access to a data analyst.
You will be expected to
Provide leadership, and develop a work plan for the team to secure the safe management and use of controlled drugs,
Monitor systems and audit management practices
Provide expert advice and specialist training in the management and use of controlled drugs
Wider issues will include
Developing and maintaining a communication network to include non-NHS bodies e.g. Police and drugs action teams, private hospitals, etc.
Experience of both primary and secondary care working is desirable and also extensive post registration experience and a current driving licence are essential for this role.
