Linda Stone, FRPharmS, was made a fellow of the International Pharmaceutical Federation at the organisation’s annual congress in Lisbon this week (28 August–2 September 2010).

Chris Love, MRPharmS, has been awarded the University of Nottingham Peter Twining award.

The newly founded award recognises NHS staff who make a contribution to the teaching of medicine.

The following candidates have successfully completed Keele University postgraduate courses:

On 8 June 2010, John Elvan Rees, FRPharmS, aged 68, of 23 Worminghall Road, Ickford, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP18 9JB.

Professor Rees registered in 1963 and was designated a fellow of the Society in 1986.

On 6 August 2010, Michael Hector Munro, aged 82, of Chartwell Lodge, Bishop’s Down Road, Tunbridge Wells TN4 8XL.

Mr Munro registered in 1954 and retired from the Register in 2005 and was a former chairman of both the Bath and Tunbridge Wells branches of the Society.

On 31 July 2010, Nigel Ewen Douglas MacLean, aged 52, of 6 Montague Road, Inverness IV3 5DX.

Mr MacLean registered in 1982 and retired from the Register in April 2010. A memorial service will be held at Guy’s Hospital Chapel, London SE1, on 10 September at 4.30pm.

On 10 July 2010, John Nicholas Logan, aged 73, of 42 Foredrift Close, Redditch, Worcestershire B98 7NP.

Mr Logan registered in 1959 and retired from the Register in 2008.

NITIN SODHA writes: My dear colleague and friend John Nicholas Logan passed away on 10 July 2010 at the age of 73. He made a lasting impact on all those who met him.

On 14 July 2010, Jacob Ross Lukeman, aged 71, of 20 Elm Crescent, Ealing, London W5 3JW.

Mr Lukeman registered in 1962 and retired from the Register in 2005.

On 7 July 2010, Kenneth Caesar, FRPharmS, aged 87, of Kerrfield, Heol Fargoed, Bargoed, Mid Glamorgan CF81 8PQ.

Mr Caesar registered in 1947.

On 28 June 2010, Sylvia Joan Aves, MRPharmS, aged 68, of 25 Heron Road, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire PE13 2TR.

Miss Aves registered in 1965.
