RCCHR prize draw
Liz Julier, a pharmacist in Stourbridge, West Midlands, is the winner
of a prize draw organised by RCCHR, after completing a survey distributed
with The Journal.
Logan On 23 February, Graham Stacey Logan, MRPharmS, of 4 Dairy Farm Close, Lymm, Cheshire WA13 9PG. Mr Logan registered in 1967. He was a community pharmacist in Lymm for 30 years.
The names of the 10 lay members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s new Council are expected to be announced next week.
The 10 appointed lay members will join the 17 elected pharmacists and
two elected registered pharmacy technicians whose names have been announced
this week (see this page).
The Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society met in London on 5 and 6 April 2005. News about various matters raised at the meeting appears on this page and the following three pages. These reports will be supplemented in due course by a verbatim transcript of the meeting’s open
Bassil On 27 February, Malcolm John Bassil, MRPharmS, of 31 Arun Road,
West End, Southampton SO18 3PR. Mr Bassil registered in 1956.
Brockman On 27 January, Irene Muriel Brockman, MRPharmS,
of 14 The Heights, St Johns
Road, Loughton, Essex IG10 1RZ. Mrs Brockman registered in 1948.
Formulation placement
A summer placement in the formulation group at Controlled Therapeutics,
East Kilbride, is available for an undergraduate student. The placement
is run under the STEP programme.
Shelley On 16 February, Edwin Spencer Shelley, of Room 24, Northcott
House, Northcott Close, Bury Hall Lane, Gosport PO12 2PP. Mr Shelley
registered in 1938 and retired from the register in 1999.
Legal requirements on community pharmacists are too restrictive, says the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and limit their ability to develop new services and to work with others to improve health care services.
Broackes On 8 February, Alice Emily Broackes, MRPharmS, of Oakfield
Nursing Home, Weston Park, Bath BA1 4AS. Mrs Broackes registered in 1932.
BPSA constitution
The British Pharmaceutical Students Association is proposing to adopt
an amended version of its constitution at its annual conference in March.
