PJ Publications is part of RPS Publishing, the wholly-owned publishing organisation of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. We respect your privacy. This Policy sets out how we may use or disclose personal information about you and your rights in relation to that information. By entering and using the Website you are deemed to accept all terms and conditions outlined in this Policy.

1. Collection of Personal Information from Website Visitors

PJ Publications/RPS Publishing may collect and/or track:

Your home server domain name, e-mail address, operating system, and type of web browser when you use PJ Online; your e-mail address if you communicate with us by e-mail;
any information provided by you in online forms, registration forms surveys, and contest entries (including demographic, financial and personal profile data);
aggregate and user-specific information on which pages you view;
and any payment information and financial details you provide in order to use PJ Online.

We may place cookies on your hard drive. These cookies may save data about you, such as the your name, password, user-name, shopping cart, screen preferences, and the pages you visit. When you revisit PJ Online, we may recognise you and customise your experience accordingly.

You may decline or disable cookies when using PJ Online, but if you do so you may not be able to use all the website’s functionalities. You may also delete the cookie at any time, but you will not be recognised when you revisit PJ Online.

When you use the search function, we may record information about you and what you searched for.

2. Use of Personal Data Collected

Personal data collected by us may be used by us for editorial feedback purposes, for marketing and promotional purposes, for statistical analysis of your behaviour, for product development, for content improvement, to customise the content and layout PJ Online, to solve technical problems or to calculate overall usage statistics.

Financial information is used for billing purposes and to fulfil any orders you may place. Any financial information will be held on a secure server with restricted access (see section 5 on Security measures).

Aggregate data (which does not identify individuals) on home server domain names, operating system, and type of web browser may be used by us for internal purposes.

Information that identifies you, such as name, postal and e-mail address, telephone number, and other personal information, which you provide, may be added to RPS Publishing databases and used for future calls and mailings regarding website updates, new products and services, upcoming events and the status of orders placed online.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties

We will not disclose your personal data to any third party without your explicit consent other than to our agents or contractors, such as software developers, distributors or professional advisers, for the purposes of operating PJ Online and developing, manufacturing and distributing RPS Publishing products.

4. External Links

PJ Online contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites unless they are owned and operated by RPS Publishing. You should be aware of when you leave PJ Online. You should read the privacy policy of any website which may collect personally identifiable information. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected through or in connection with PJ Online.

5. Security Measures

We have implemented security features to prevent the unauthorised release of or access to your personal information. But we are not responsible for the security of information transmitted to us via the internet. We cannot guarantee the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to or from PJ Online via the website or by e-mail.

Your personal information will not be made available to anyone who does not need it to perform a specific job on our behalf without your explicit consent.

6. Opt-Out Right

You may opt out of having your personal information used by us for marketing and promotional purposes by updating your profile via the website.

7. Access to and Ability to Correct Personal Data

We will provide you on request in writing or by e-mail details of your personal information stored by us in relation to your use of PJ Online. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for this. You may correct or update your personal record or delete it. If you delete it, you may lose your access to PJ Online. We will only send personal data to the e-mail address associated with that data.

8. Our Right to Contact the Visitor

We reserve the right to contact you regarding your account status and changes to the subscriber agreement, this privacy policy, or any other policies or agreements relevant to PJ Online.

9. Our Right to Change this Privacy Policy

This Policy is effective from 1 June 2008. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time by publishing on PJ Online notice of the existence and location of the new or revised Policy.
