A new drug is now available in the UK for the treatment of severe chronic hand eczema in adults whose condition is unresponsive to treatment with potent topical corticosteroids. Alitretinoin, marketed as Toctino by Basilea Pharmaceuticals, is an oral retinoid available as soft capsules
