Tim Brown, Lloydspharmacy preregistration graduate at the Fenton Road branch in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, has been awarded preregistration graduate of the year at the company’s preregistration ball.
Mr Brown was nominated by other Lloydspharmacy preregistration graduates for his outstanding work. Mr Brown said: “I think it was probably the audit project I conducted into the use of inhalers that stood out to the judges. The results showed that many who use inhalers and suffer side effects are doing so because they are inhaling too quickly. This means the medicine hits the back of their throat rather than reach their lungs. We will now be using this information during our medicines use review procedures to ensure our patients are getting the best from their medication.”
Nirvair Gill from the Moortown branch in Leeds was awarded second place and the third place went to Rohini Gogna from the Anchor Meadow Health Centre, Aldridge, Walsall.
